Rainbow granny

A pop of colour on this cold, gloomy, snowy day here in West Yorkshire.

A simple granny square, one of my favourite blankets to make. You can make them as big or as small as you want and the colour possibilities are endless. I love rainbow crochet so this is up there with one of my favourite colour palettes.

Right I'm off to add a few more rows before I start the border. Keep safe and warm and see you soon :) xx

A bit of waffling!!

So, here's one of my rare visits to my blog.

Yes, I'm still crocheting and I've enough blankets to cover a football field and that's just the one's I've kept and not gifted or donated!!

This one is a waffle blanket (no you can't eat it, although hubby would probably have a go) lol It's made with two Caron Cakes called Strawberry Trifle, although I must say I've never eaten a strawberry trifle that colour!! I wasn't too sure about the abrupt colour changes of these cakes, but I think this particular colourway blends nicely. Finished it off with a simple shell border.

So there you have it. I may see you again soon, or then again maybe not!! lol I'll wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year now as I don't think I'll be on here again this side of 2017 :) xx

Pastel granny stripe blanket

So here I am again, crawling out of the woodwork to update my poor, neglected blog!!

I've eleventy six million new crochet projects to show you, but I won't put them all on at once, so here's just one to be going on with.  It's a granny stripe and the pattern is from the fabulous Lucy over at Attic 24.

I used Stylecraft Summer Breeze DK and a 4mm hook.

So here it is, and I'll be back at some point when I remember I've still got a blog!!

Liquorice Allsorts??

Another one in the making.
I wasn't sure of the colours at first but once I'd done a few colour sequences I love it, reminds me of Bertie Bassett!
Pattern is cosy stripe by Lucy at Attic 24.

See you soon :)

Blackberry Salad

I can't believe we're almost in the middle of July already!! Still waiting for the Summer to arrive:(

Anyway while we're waiting here's another baby blanket I made. It's called the Blackberry Salad Blanket and you can find the link here. It's a very easy pattern but is sooooo slow growing. Having said that I love how it turned out.

See you next time :) xx

Coooooeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Well hello there, how long has it been?!!!!!  I gave up card making altogether and started crocheting (again) and haven't stopped since!!

For you card makers out there who've followed my blog, I'm afraid I'm going to bore you to death with all my crochet projects, but for all you crocheters out there I hope you like my "creations"!  So here we go, this first pic is the start of a blanket I started back in September 2014.

It's still ongoing and here are a few more pics of work in progress!!

So that's it for now on this one.  I'll keep you up to date on the progress, but in between I'll be showing you stuff I've done in between.

See you soon xx

Little monkey

My first ever Amigurumi project.

I can't believe how simple she was to make, although the face is probably the worst bit. Trying to get the expression right was a bit of a challenge.  The pattern can be purchased here.

I love how she turned out :)

I can sing a rainbow

Red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too!!

I made this corner to corner blanket using 19 different shades of colour and absolutely loved the outcome!!

I bought 100g of each colour and only used half of it :) xx

Swarovski Crystal and Pearl Bracelet

I'm going to a wedding this weekend and couldn't find a bracelet to match my outfit .... so I made my own!!

It's a flat spiral weave bracelet, made with genuine swarovski crystals, white pearls and silver lined seed beads. It looks fantastic with my outfit even though I do say so myself! :)

Have a great weekend whatever you're doing :) xx

Road Trip Scarf

Well here I am again, still alive and kicking!!

I've been crocheting and bead making and designing for Hunkydory and just seem to have forgotten I had a blog!!

Here's a scarf I've just crocheted, and I have to say it was one of the quickest and easiest things I've ever made. The link for the free pattern is here

I used James C Brett Baby Marble DK and a 5mm hook and it drapes like a dream!
Until next time :) xx

Pop up box card

After seeing a lot of these pop up box cards around I thought I'd have a bash myself and make one for my Mum's birthday.  I followed these easy, peasy instructions with no measuring involved! Thanks Nikky x

I used silver mirri card, stamping up papers and some fabric flowers I bought from W H Smith years ago!! It took me ages to do it, but that was only because I couldn't decide how to place the flowers and leaves. Now I've done one it won't take me as long next time (I hope)!!

And yes, it does fold flat!

Happy Birthday Mum, love you lots :) xx

Crochet baby dress

Been very busy with my Hunkydory DT work, but in between I've found time to pick up my crochet hook and make a few baby items ready for a few little babies that are waiting in the wings to make an appearance.

This is my first baby dress and I'm really pleased with the results.

I've also done one in peaches and cream but I'll show you that one later. Hope you all had a fantastic Easter :) xx
